Tim Cook On Apple’s Fastest Growing Markets

Soon after announcing the third quarter revenue – Apple still makes billions but iPhone sales slump – Tim Cook spoke about how the company sees huge potential in India. After the announcement, he said, “We’re looking forward to opening retail stores in India down the road, and we see huge potential for that vibrant country.”

After norms relaxed (30 percent) in November 2015, Apple had applied for exemption on the ground that it was introducing “state-of-the-art” and “cutting-edge technology” to the country. However, the DIPP found that there was “nothing to show that Apple’s technology is cutting edge” revealing that Apple may have once again hit a roadblock when it comes to opening its Apple Stores in India.
